Day 55 of 365 - "Toys. When you're not looking" project

Self discipline: The art of resisting temptation and refusing to dine on your circle of friends.  No matter how tasty they may be.
In 2013, I'm doing a 365 shot a day project with the theme "Toys. When you're not looking". The idea is to capture familiar toys dealing with the situations and challenges that life throws at them in the real world, just like a human would.  You can follow the progress of the project on
Shot with the Nikon D7000 and Nikon 35mm F1.8G prime lens.  Manual exposure mode, F13, 1/50th second shutter speed, ISO 100, matrix metering.  Camera was tripod mounted and shutter triggered with Nikon infrared remote.
Main Light:
Alien Bees B800 studio strobe @ 1/4 power in a 22" Paul C Buff white-lined beauty dish with white diffusion sock on the front.  Strobe on a boom arm attached to an Avenger C-Stand to camera left and triggered via a set of PocketWizard Plus II radio transceivers, one on the strobe and the other on the camera.
Background light:
To keep the white seamless paper white, I used a Yungnuo YN560 II speedlight in manual mode @ 1/4 power with the flash head zoomed to 24mm and shot through a large sized Rogue Flashbender with the diffusion panel attached.  Flash mounted on a light stand with boom arm and positioned directly above the white seamless on a slight angle towards the back. Flash triggered via built in optical slave trigger.
