Creepy yes, haunted no.

Denise and I stumbled on this very creepy looking property along the Augustine Herman Highway in Kent County on Maryland's Eastern Shore on Saturday 4-6-2013.  When we asked Denise's friend, who lives not far from here, about it we were told that the property was featured on the cover of the book "Haunted Eastern Shore".  Having peaked my interest, I purchased the book hoping to get a background on the house but the house was never mentioned in the book.  Only its photo was on the cover.  I contacted the book's author Mindie Burgoyne about the history of the house and was told the book publisher chose that photo for the cover because it was a very creepy looking, well known house in the area but that it had absolutely no history or reports of it actually being haunted.  I guess appearance sometimes paint a pretty vivid story in your head when you allow your imagination to take control.  The really strange thing is that there is an exact duplicate of the house, though painted yellow, a little further down the same road that is beautifully kept and maintained and is lived in by a farming family.

I shot this with the Nikon D7000 and Nikon 28-70mm F2.8 FS lens @ 70mm.  Aperture priority mode F8, ISO 100, spot metering. Camera was tripod mounted and shutter triggered with Nikon infrared remote.
