This is work from an ongoing project to visually document the sinking island of Tangier in the Chesapeake Bay. Due to rising ocean levels and subsiding land, some say the island’s inhabitants, who number less than 500, may only have a few more decades left before much of it is underwater, like so many other small islands in the Chesapeake.
