Passenger's trunks stacked on a baggage cart at the Railroad Museum Of Pennsylvania in Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  There are several such scenes like this setup at the museum that represent things that would have been witnessed in and around an old passenger or freight railroad station.  Just 20 days left in this 365 project.  I might just make it :)

Exposure was 5 seconds at F16 after adjusting for reciprocity compensation.
Developed in Adox Rodinal 1:50 dilution for 7 minutes and 25 seconds @ 20 degrees Celsius using a Mod54 six sheet insert in an older screw top Paterson System Tank # 4 placed on Unicolor Uniroller 352 auto-reversing rotary base.

An angel grave marker from 1946, found in Sacred Heart Cemetery, also known as Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania.

The Freyberger one-room schoolhouse was built by Jacob Stein for $300 in the 1830's, though some reports list its build date as circa 1870. It was originally called both the Center School and the Stein School. Classes ceased at the school in 1955 when school district consolidation took over in Pennsylvania. The school was moved to the Kutztown University campus on October 30th-31st 1991 and is now part of the Pennsylvania German Cultural Center which includes examples of a German Bank Barn, Farm House, Cabins and this one room brick schoolhouse.  The original location of the school was on Klinesville Road in Greenwich township about 3 1/2 miles from its present location. It was gifted to the college by Archie Follweiler Jr. of Kutztown. Kutztown University Alumnus and retired school teacher Dr. Ruth Freyberger paid for the move, renovations and maintenance of the schoolhouse as a tribute to her Sister Grace Arline Freyberger, also a Kutztown University graduate and a retired schoolteacher who attended a one-room schoolhouse in her youth. Present day school children sometimes take field trips to the school to learn about what it was like to be educated in one during the 1800s/early 1900s.

Point Lookout Lighthouse, located in St. Mary;s County Maryland on the northern side of the mouth of the Potomac River within Point Lookout State Park.  The structure was built in 1830 and has been upgraded several times since.  During the Civil War a nearby prison camp called Camp Hoffman was used to hold up to 20,000 Confederate soldiers.  About 4,000 soldiers died at the camp, and their remains were interred near the lighthouse grounds. When threatened by erosion, the graves were relocated to a spot alongside Route 5, just north of Point Lookout State Park. The trauma and death associated with the prison camp may be responsible for the large number of strange, paranormal events that have been reported by visitors to the lighthouse.  While I was there making this image, there was an open air, new age prayer service with a revivalist flair going on in the center of the grass at the lighthouse parking lot.  The lighthouse. now owned by the State of Maryland, is gated with a tall chain link fence to protect it.

A section of a floral bouquet we had purchased back in January when I first kicked off this 365 project.  This image was mixed in with other negatives I just developed in a long waiting color batch.

Another Sunflower shot from back in August at the Please Wash Me Car Wash in Elverson, Chester County, Pennsylvania.  I went for a shallower depth of field on this one with the advantage of being able to then use a slightly higher shutter speed to try and counteract some of the swaying of the flowers in the wind.

Neff's one-room schoolhouse on the outskirts of Kutztown.  It was built in the 1880s and used up until 1955 when the Kutztown School District consolidated their fifteen one-room schoolhouses into a larger school that could house all students.  It remained dormant until Bill and Doll Fox purchased the property in 1972 and spent several years renovating it as a second home.  Since then, they have also purchased another one-room schoolhouse, the Eagle Point school, on the other side of Kutztown.   The Fox's have decorated the interior of the Neff School with antiques and symbols commemorating life in Kutztown.   Mr. Fox is known for his intricate topiary gardens he curates outside both schoolhouses.

Crane's Nest Inlet section of Promised Land State Park in Greentown, Pennsylvania.  When I stopped to shoot this area the first time in 2013 I was focusing the camera when I heard some grumbling and rustling off to my right.  Peaking my head out from under the focusing cloth I found a black bear was crossing the road between me and my car which was parked about two hundred feet south.   The bear looked at me in mid-stride and kept on going on his way to the other side of the forest.   It still ranks as one of the coolest things that has happened to me while photographing.  No bears were spotted on more recent trips to the state park.

The giant Coplay Cement Company Kilns, located in Saylor's Park on North Second Street in Coplay, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. These ninety foot tall vertical Kilns were in use From 1893 to 1904 when they were superseded by more advanced cement kiln technology. In the 1920s all the surrounding Coplay Cement Company buildings were demolished and the top 30 feet of each kiln was removed for some reason.  The kilns are surrounded by the Ironton Rail Trail which is part of the "Rails to Trails" program that takes abandoned rail lines and converts them to multi-use recreation paths.

Today marks the start of the final month of this year long daily project.  Time flies for sure.  I'm scrambling to trim down the list of places I still have time left to shoot and with the horrible Winter light and cold starting to move into the area I need to also consider the move back into the studio for more still life work. It really doesn't feel like eleven months have passed already.

The Haines mill was built by John George Knauss in 1760 and was in continual operation as a mill until 1956.  The Lehigh County Commissioners purchased the mill in 1972 and now operate the restored mill as a grist mill museum as part of the Lehigh County Park's System.

Sunflowers and bees back on an August day in a sunflower field at the Please Wash Me Car Wash in Elverson, Chester County, Pennsylvania.  I normally save up a bunch of color film that needs developing and then head to the darkroom to do all the developing in one or two big batches to minimize chemical costs.  Doing things this way often leads to "rediscovering" photos you forgot you shot many months ago or, like this one, bringing Summer color into a very cold, drab late November day.

A section of the carriage house building at the Cairnwood Estate within the Bryn Athyn Historic District in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Cairnwood was the home of wealthy industrialist John Pitcairn.  The state was constructed from 1892-1895.

Calkins Baptist Church located in Milanville, Wayne County, Pennsylvania not far from the Pennsylvania/New York state border.  I couldn't find any information on the history of the church unfortunately.  A similar B&W image shot on Ilford FP4+ film was posted on day # 281 of the project.
